LETHVM, a Belgian band formed in 2015 evolves in a heavy and torn atmosphere, between devastation and candor.
The four members draw their influences in the darkness of life by inserting beauty, rage and melancholy in their melodies.
LÊTUM i.n. Dead, defund, erosion, ruined, destruction.
After the release of their first EP “Affable Erosion” in 2016, LETHVM defend their live performances in Belgium and France. Sharing the stage with bands like: Bathsheba, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber (fr), Svart Crown (fr), Telepathy (uk), Mr Marcaille, Plèvre (fr).
Throughout the same year, the band composes their first album “This Fall Shall Cease” who was recorded in May 2017 by Nicola Lomartire (The Link / Goliath) at Noise Factory Studio in Namur.
After being selected by the LOUD program by Court-Cuit, LETHVM participated in a residency before providing support for Au Dessus (Li) at L’entrepôt in Arlon and played at Botanique as part of the Loud festivaL.
In the first part of 2018, LETHVM played at Magasin 4, Durbuy Rock and dunk! festival supporting bands like: Bell Witch (usa), Monarch! (fr), Amenra, Kadavar (de), Monolord (swe), The Ocean (de), Rosetta (us) before touring France.
The Band searches to transcribe the dark atmosphere that sweats during their live performances and adds the musical richness allowed by the studio sessions. The album gets a strong identity, but also tries to throw a new eye on the underground music world.
About the album
“This Fall Shall Cease” is the passionate culmination of long composition sessions during the 2016/17 winter. Thought and composed as a work to be approached in its entire singularity, the album reveals a dark, heavy iden- tity and sometimes tinged with hope. The will is to train the listeners in this gloomy atmosphere, towards salvation.
